Following hot on the heels of AOL, The Utility Warehouse (Telecom
plus Plc) has recently announced the launch of their own
free
laptop computer deal. It is thought that this offer will go live on the 1st
November 2007 and offers Utility Warehouse customers the opportunity to sign up
for the Company's special 'Broadcall Laptop' tariff, with the benefit of a free
Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo laptop valued at £450. This offer features a
surprisingly highly specified laptop that is clearly better that PC World's
earlier offering and arguably better than AOL's current laptop offer. Of
particular note is a lifetime warranty that is provided with The Utility
Warehouse offer.
Terms and conditions of this deal include:
- New customers need to provide credit/debit card
details for payment of their initial £10 advance payment, standard
£29.99 delivery charge and any upgrade requested to the specification of
their laptop.
- If a customer subsequently cancel their energy
service, then the monthly cost of BroadCall Laptop will increase by £3
per month for as long as the customer continues to use this service.
- Additional early termination charges apply compared
with the Company's standard BroadCall tariffs.
When compared to the AOL free
laptop offer, LLU customers connecting to The Utility Warehouse deal would be
£84 better off over 24 months and non-LLU customers would be £132
better off over the same period.
