Mobile broadband / free laptop trends
7th May 2009
Free laptop
computers are common place on the high street these days, being bundled as an
offer / incentive to buy with home broadband, mobile broadband and a variety of
mobile phone deals. Two of the most popular destinations for a wide variety of
laptop offers (including web books and net books) are The
Carphone
Warehouse and PC
World. A quick visit to the Carphone Warehouse will find free laptop offers
with O2, TMobile, 3 and Orange, along with a very impressive range of free
laptop computers. Current free laptop offers at the Carphone Warehouse include:
Acer Aspire 6930G, Toshiba U400, Toshiba L300, whilst a small additional
payment would include high spec laptop offers such as: Samsung NC10 Netbook,
Asus X58, Sony Vaio NS20 and the Toshiba L300-T. PC World also offers a
wide range of free laptop offers, with both home and mobile broadband bundles,
including deals with Vodafone, 3 and T-Mobile. Current free laptop offers at PC
World include: Packard Bell, Advent, Compaq, Dell, HP and Acer. On the
whole, it seems that most providers are steering away from home broadband /
free laptop offers, in favour of the growing mobile broadband sector. Recently,
The Utility Warehouse
stopped promoting their popular free laptop deal and looking at several
websites, this appears to be a growing trend. As home broadband deals become
more competitive, the cost of providing a free laptop becomes ever less viable
and so, for those still looking to snap up a free laptop offer, mobile
broadband is probably the way to go.
